I really enjoyed this amusing and hard to figure out whodunit! Cate Kinkaid, an assistant private investigator, rushes to the scene of the crime of what she thinks is a triple homicide after she receives a call only to find out is isn't humans who were murdered but dolls! Why would anyone want to shoot dolls? When a human victim is discovered, can she trust the lady who called her or is she involved? As she continues investigating and sorting through suspects and motives, will she find the killer before she's next?
I loved the humor and the investigating Cate does as she tries to find the killer. I find the job of a PI fascinating! Cate's a great character who selflessly helps people even when she may not feel like it because God wants her to and I admired that about her. This is book 2 in the Cate Kinkaid Files and it works as a stand-alone, though I want to find out how she met her deaf cat and her boyfriend, which sounds like it happened in book 1. Quirky characters and a good mystery made for a book I didn't want to put down!
I received this book free from Revell in exchange for an honest review.
