About the book:
Can faith build a bridge between their dreams?
For two years, Allan and Michele have been trying to have a baby. The emotional ride has been taking a toll on their hearts--and their relationship. Michele is obsessed with researching fertility treatments while Allan seems content to spend his time--and their money--on supporting displaced children in Africa. Something's got to give. But they both hope it's not their marriage.
Still, God has a plan for Allan and Michele that they could never have imagined. And all it takes to set it in motion is a change of heart . . .
My review:
This was an amazing story! I have read the first two books in the series and while I enjoyed them, I loved this one! I liked seeing the faith journey of Michele, especially, as she moves from being obsessed with having a baby to trusting God's timing and the plan He has for them. I loved reading about the spiritual truths she was learning from a Bible study and how they pertain to everyone, including myself. It was very cool how it all worked together for good at the end. The focus on the mission trips Allan went on was fascinating and eye-opening, not to mention heartbreaking, that showed what the poorest people in the world live like. I definitely needed a tissue reading this one! I liked getting reacquainted with the family again, but also getting to know Michele and Allan a lot better and getting to know a new character, Christina, a pregnant girl that Michele's mom, Marilyn, was helping. I'm excited to see how Christina will be featured in book four when the story is about the youngest son, Michele's brother. There's an interesting interview in the back between Walsh and Smalley as they discuss the message Smalley wanted to convey in the story. This series has shown such important truths, both spiritually and pertaining to family life. While you can read it as a stand-alone, I would suggest reading them all for the insight into family life the way it should be and in order to understand the characters better. I would definitely recommend this book and the whole series!
I received this book free from Revell in exchange for an honest review.
