About the book:
She's looking for her big break. She never imagined it would depend on a blast from her past.
Managing the Value Lodge in her hometown was not what Anna Gordon had in mind when she set out in the hospitality industry. But it's a safe choice for a young woman starting out her career.
Then, out of the blue, she gets the opportunity of a lifetime: a chance to reinvent herself and reinvigorate her career by moving to New York City. She applies for a management position at a stylish new hotel, The Rothsberg. But the city is full of surprises--not the least of which is discovering that Sean O'Neil, a once-upon-a-time crush, has applied for the very same position.
This sweetly romantic tale of dreams come true takes you through the storied streets of New York City--and into the depths of the human heart.
My review:
I really enjoyed this fun story about dreams coming true! The contrast between the beginning of the book, when Anna was stuck in a rut, working at a place she didn't like and feeling frustrated with her life, with where she was at the end of the book was amazing. I loved seeing her discover New York. It was so fun to go with her sightseeing and remembering when I saw some of those same places myself. I also loved the joy she had in setting up her own apartment and seeing her shop for that. It was also fun to watch her getting to actually know a man she used to have a crush on when she was a teenager. There's a sweet romance to the story. The love interest seemed to have a strong faith in God. Hers didn't seem as strong and almost more of an afterthought. I would have liked to see more of a stronger faith element in the story. I found it interesting to learn more about hotel management and the behind-the-scenes of setting up a hotel and keeping it running smoothly. This was just a fun, lighthearted story about getting your fairy tale ending! I highly recommend it if you like happy, light romances!
I received this book free from Revell in exchange for an honest review.
