My review:
I'm enjoying where this series is taking me. I'm intrigued to see how the truth will come out about Emmie and it was interesting to learn that some "enemies" I thought were long gone are back! Added to the suspense as her friend's pregnancy gets difficult and the childbirth takes a bad turn. There were a few cute moments in the romance. Emmie's learning more about who God is and that He does care about her. I also wondered when Emmie and Isaac would ever get together and was a little frustrated she didn't talk to Isaac right away about her past, especially when she knows someone else is going to. This is part of a six part serial novel that you should definitely read in order. They were originally the first two books she wrote that they decided to re-release in this new format. I like the story, but I don't feel it's nearly as good as some of her later work. I'm interested to see how the next book will wrap everything up. If you like historical fiction, you might like this.
