Love at Mistletoe Inn - A Year of Weddings Novella - by Cindy Kirk
About the book:
They've helped orchestrate the perfect day for countless couples. Now twelve new couples will find themselves in the wedding spotlight in the second Year of Weddings novella collection.
An owner of a Victorian inn and charming rustic barn is used to creating the perfect setting for other couples' nuptials. But when she falls head over heels for the new man in her life, will she be prepared to walk down that aisle?
My review:
I liked this story that featured a unique plot! Hope and John fall in love and get married when they're eighteen, but Hope panics and changes her mind. They're told that if the paperwork isn't sent in, the marriage isn't legal. They go their separate ways and see each other a handful of times over the next decade. Soon after John moves back to town, they find out the marriage is legal! Now they have to overcome their fears to see if they can make the marriage work or if they even want to.
There were some amusing moments in the story and I liked how faith was brought in with Hope's aunt giving good advice about consulting a pastor for advice and praying and listening for God. The main characters both seem to have faith, but I thought it odd that they never really discussed it with each other. I was also frustrated that they didn't share their fears for quite a while. I also couldn't see what Hope liked about the guy she was dating when John returned. I liked John, but didn't really connect with Hope that well. I liked the romance and I felt this was a pretty good story overall.
I received a free kindle copy of this book from BookLook Bloggers in exchange for an honest review.
This book is only available as an e-book and audiobook.
